I visited this little gem of a place, Kafi Dihei, for Sunday Brunch. It seems like everyone else in Zürich did too. And I understand why!
Nestled in a little street away from one of the main streets in Wiedikon, this place looks and feels just like a house. An English grandmother’s house. The chairs are mismatched, there are pillows with big embroided roses, the blue floral wallpaper matches perfectly with the rest of the decor, and they have the most beautiful collection of teacups. Just like grandma would! So it’s very fitting that in this quiet street, you find Kafi Dihei, which means ‘Coffee at Home’ in Swiss German.
Kafi Dihei outside area looking so cute.
MENU
The menu includes a z’morge menu, which is served daily until 16h. This includes the deliciousness of the likes of Birchermuseli, waffles and porridge. And it’s worth noting, very important to note, they have a Z’morge Dihei with Hangover – I mean what else can you need? They also have a brunch menu for the weekend.
The best thing on this menu? The most fluffy, light, American style pancakes. The toppings always change, which is so exciting. And makes me want to come back soon! Our pancakes had berry compote and creme fraiche with sliced almonds. And I cannot recommend these enough.
PRICE
$$ I found Kafi Dihei to be good value for money. You get quite big portions, and for sharing they are perfect. If you want to have a sneak peek into the menu here is the Z’morge part.
